Kryptoladdin
Chapter 1
*The screen shows a vast landscape. The sky is reddish, as the sun is in the process of going down. Then, a figure riding a camel can be seen in the distance. The figure begins to sing*
Figure:
Oh I come from a land, from a faraway place
Where the caravan camels roam
Where it's flat and immense
And the heat is intense
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home
When the winds from the east
And the sun from the west
And the sand in the glass is right
Come on down
Stop on by
Hop a carpet and fly
To another Imperial night
*The figure rides into a huge city dominated by a huge palace. He continues to sing*
Imperial nights
Like Imperial days
More often than not
Are wilder than wild
In a lot of good ways
Imperial nights
'Neath Imperial moons
A fool off his guard
Could fall and fall hard
Out there on the dunes
*The figure's mount comes to a stop in a darkened section of the city and the figure hops off, revealing himself as Streaky the Supercat*
"Ah, hello and good evening to you, worthy friend. Please, come closer. There. Welcome to Agrabah, city of mystery, of enchantment and of the finest fish direct from the Great River, come on down!" he exclaimed.
*He unwraps his travel bag, revealing a portable fish stall. He holds up a hot plate of grilled fish*
"Yes, nothing tastier in all the land! Come and get it now!" he said.
*He realizes no one is coming to take it and puts the plate down*
"I can see that you are interested in something extraordinary," he said.
*He pulls out a golden oil lamp*
"Then consider this. Do not be fooled by its commonplace appearance. This is no ordinary lamp. It once changed the course of a young man's life. A young man who like this lamp was more than what he seemed. A diamond in the rough. Perhaps you would like to hear the tale? It begins on a dark night, where a dark dog waits, with a dark purpose," he said.
*Streaky pours dust from the lamp into his paw, and then tosses it into the dark sky, where it forms a starry night sky. The scene switches to a landscape shot, where a tall, muscular, sinister-looking Malamute in red and black robes and a tall hat with a blood-red feather and carrying a golden, ruby-eyed, cobra-headed cane and a blue-colored kitten wait. These are Steele and Snooky Wookums respectively. Steele is the grand vizier to Sultana Rita of Agrabah, while Snooky is his aide. They stand there as a pudgy reptile comes up to them. This is Klump, a local thief*
"You are late," Steele said grimly.
Klump looked at him.
"A 1,000 apologies, oh patient one," he replied.
"You have it then?" the Malamute asked.
Klump pulled out half of an insect medallion. Steele reached for it, but the reptile pulled it back.
"Not yet. The treasure," he said, holding the medallion away from Steele.
Suddenly, Snooky swept in and snatched it from Klump's hand. He handed it to Steele as the Malamute retrieved the other half of the medallion from inside his robe. He looked at Klump.
"Trust me, my pungent friend. You will get what's coming to you," he said.
"What's coming to you!" Snooky repeated.
Steele put the two halves of the medallion together. It came to life and flew off with a bright glow around it. The Malamute, cat and reptile took off after it.
"Faster!" Steele shouted.
They continued their run, finally stopping at a dune. The medallion split in two and plunged straight into the dune, leaving only two glowing light points. Suddenly, and without warning, the dust of the dune began to rise up, forming into a giant tiger's head, with the glowing light points serving as the eyes. Steele smiled wickedly.
"After all my years of searching, the Cave of Wonders!" he exclaimed in delight.
Klump looked on in shock.
"By the great rulers of the past…" he said.
Steele grabbed him by his collar and glared at him.
"Remember this: the rest of the treasure is yours, but the lamp is mine!" he said.
Klump went up to the cave, the mouth of the tiger head serving as the entrance.
"Who disturbs my slumber?" the Cave demanded.
"It is I, Klump, a humble thief," Klump replied.
"Know this. Only one can enter here. One whose worth lies within. A diamond in the rough," the Cave answered.
Klump looked at Steele questioningly. Steele frowned.
"Go on!" he said with a menacing growl.
Klump did so, but the moment he set foot on the cave, it roared and collapsed, killing Klump instantly and burying Snooky in dust.
"Seek thee out, the diamond in the rough," the cave said as it vanished.
The halves of the medallion landed at Steele's feet as Snooky dug himself out of the ground. The kitten was angry.
"I can't believe it! We're never going to find that stupid lamp! Just forget it! We've got a big problem here," he said.
Steele nodded.
"Klump was obviously less than worthy," he said.
Snooky glared at him.
"Oh there's a big surprise! I think that I'm going to have a heart attack from that surprise! Look at this, I'm so ticked off that I'm shedding! Again, we have a big problem here," he said.
Steele put a hand over the kitten’s mouth.
"Yes, we do. Only one can enter. I must find this one, this…diamond in the rough," he said.
